....footwell lights and a glovebox light from pre 2005 trucks ? Is there an easily found wire to tap into ? Do the OEM parts work in the newer trucks ?

It can't be too bad. I added them to my Ford F-450 that never came with them from the factory. From what I know, the brackes should still be in your truck for the footwell lamps, not so sure about the glovebox. But it should just be a matter of tapping into the dome light circuit, and a ground, and running the wire to the lights.
