Does anyone know thr numbers for the engine rpm when starting

what yr truck? What engine? Whats the weather like?

 

my 2000 5.3 will run at appx 750-900 rpms when it is cold out. It idles at 500. In the summer months the engine rpm is around 500

Thats normal. My 99 will do anywhere from 1100 to 800. Warm or cold. Nothing to worry about.

900 to 1200 on cold start, idles down to 600 quickly when cold outside, eventually down to 500 once warm.

 

Same as mine, 2003 5.3L Z71
