Cranky DMax

My 2003 DMax has been really cranky starter this winter, compared to two previous winters.

In just "cool" weather this fall/winter (in the 20's/30's) it is slow to start unless the block heater has been plugged in. Previous two winters I never plugged it in, even down to -20F, and it always started without complaint.

Otherwise the engine is flawless, great mileage, good power, etc.

Could glow plugs have gone bad? Would I get any "check engine" codes?

Could be the battery. They might not be pushing out all the amps they should be when starting? The cooler it gets will put more of a strain on them. For a 2003 they shouldn't be old enough to be a concern.

How many miles? Is there anything you can think of that contributed to this? Let us know how it goes after you get it repaired and what the tech says.
