I have the BFG's mounted on steel wheels for winter use and had the Coopers on alloy for the warmer salt free months. The BFG's have about 50K on them and are about ready to be replaced. The Coopers have maybe 25K and they are shot, a much softer compound tire and won't get anywhere near the tread life. Sorry no experience with the Goodyears or the Maxxis.

I can't say much about the Cooper or Maxxis other than they look cool. I have BFG MT's on mine and am just a bit over 50k on them. They need replacing since it's the winter, but I prob could get more out of them. My buddy has the Goodyears, and they are a bit louder than the BFG's. Also, I think they may be a bit softer which makes them a great rock tire, but I don't think they will last as long as the BFG's.

On my two past turcks I had BFG ATs and never had a problem with them. They lasted about 50K and worked great in the dirt and lght mud. Needless to say I just ordered a new set of 285/65 18 for my new truck.

imo, if you are looking to save money go with the Maxxis Mudders. I had 265/70/17's on my '95 Z71. I had them for about 25,000 miles and they wore very well. Easily could have gotten another 45,000 miles. You have to rotate them though. They were easily balanced and are not very loud comparably speaking for a mud tire. I'm going with BFG M/T 285/75/16's on my new 2500HD but only because I found a set on ebay for $540.00. I'll let you know how they perform. btw I work in construction and the Mudders never left me stuck and they perform well on the street.

Hey has anyone heard of the Summit Mud Dawg? I found a thread about it last night but can't find much about them. They look identical to the Goodyear MTR but I'm guessing a lot cheaper. It appears they are only sold in the south (AL, MS, FL, GA); at least thats the only place I'm seeing. Haven't found a price. Let me know you any of you either run them or have seen them.

definitely the BFG MTs. I run 35x12.5R16s on my truck, they are awesome, just remember to rotate on schedule. My buddy put no S**t on this one 70K + on his f150 2wd, and about 60K + on his 86 F250, ran them til they were almost cheater slicks but they still pulled like a mother from those side DiggerLugz. They are a little loud sometimes, but very reliable and awesome looking too.
