The Good OLD 5.7L

I have a 98 350 with 120,000 and shes running just fine. But I want some more power out of it. Its got so much more potential but I need some help getting it more powerful. I am talking any advice at all. Rebuid, cam, pistons, etc, etc. I was also wondering what the intake actually looks like broken down. I have heard that there are fuel rails inside the intake.

It's definitely a weird intake. With your mileage you may as well strip it and build it up. I don't know that much about the 350s however, i don't know how similar they are to LT1s.

I've found a place that sells a Smog Legal 383 Stroker for the 96-00 year 350. All you have to do is swap out engine parts from the current 350 to the new 383. I think I am going to go with that route.

I looked into into it and it is actually a new block with new pistons, etc, and new vortec heads, all you have to do is swap anything the new block is missing from the old one. It beats me havin to rebuild mine when the guy will swap for practically nothing. The best part is it makes 310hp @ 4400 and 410ft/lbs @ 3300.

Plus I can still buy anything that fits the 350 like a SC.

Note that you will be on the verge of maxing out your factory injectors with the 383, no room for any more fuel to support a supercharger. Injectors size and physical oddity and electronic control are the limiting factor on these engines, there is a mod guys are doing to swap in a mercruiser marine intake manifold that uses upgradable injectors and is stock smog legal "looking". Then with some engine control boost all you want or control a big cam or whatever. Check these for more info:

Big Thanks on the manifold. I read the forums and I found out that CFM Technologies sells a marine intake manifold for the L31 350. The site is CFM Technologies. You have to look in the online catalog for the Chevy SB-Specialty+Modified Intake Manifolds section. There are 2 different versions. The manifold's item number is #400-VM.
