I have about 110,000+ on the 99 1500 now and am experiencing a slipping between 2-3 gears. Anyone else have this problem on theirs? Can I do anything other than dropping it and replacing it??

Exact same symptom at 140K on my Tahoe. Started slipping 2-3 at WOT. It means your frictions are wearing and it will get worse. You can probably drive it easy for another 10K but eventually you will be looking at a rebuild. I had mine rebuild because I tow long distances and I didn't want to get stranded in the middle of nowhere.

I would change out the filter and tranny oil first. That's always a good first step. If the shift is a slide-bump (if it slides and then shifts hard into gear) then a shift improvement kit will sometimes help. A shift kit is less then 50 bucks if you install it yourself, probably 150 if you have a shop do it. Either way, your looking at a rebuild at some point...the kit just postpones the inevitable

Yeah, shift kits or tuned PCM's will make it last longer beacuse they shif firmer and dont slip as much because they are programmed to slip because people like nice smooth shifts.
