Wait4me Aftermath

Got my second pcm back from Jesse after sending my first one back due to not shifting and running right. The second one seems to be better but both have shared the same characteristics.

When you start the vehicle the engine jumps up to about 1800 to 2100 rpms, comapred to the stock pcms 1200 rpms during start up. I have asked Jesse about this and he told me it will learn itself out.

It just doesnt seem right and I am worried about the effects it could have on the truck. My question is what has everyone elses experience been when you engine starts up with a tune from Wait4me?

my truck did the same thing for the first few days then it just started workin as normal

seems like the learning takes just a lil while

dose the truck idle after start up?? at a normal rpm?

Never an issue here. I got a Westers. Started up first time just like I had never made any changes. Until i drove it that is, then you could tell there were a few changes...

I hear all the price wars out there to get their PCMs reprogrammed...this guys is $75, that guy is $125, the other guy is $450...etc, etc. When it come down to it in the end, i would rather pay a few extra bucks to have it done right, on the first try. I have been hearing about alot of send backs, and redo's lately. On a daily driver, thats gotta be a pain the buttox. Yup, i paid a few more for my tune than most others (course that was back when there were less options) but i have never had one problem what so ever, even in the 2 returns i made for peformance upgrades on my truck they always installed and ran with no problems. Just my opinion, no biggie.

I had minor issues with my mail order tune, and after 3 attempts took my losses and spent money on a dyno tune. I gained over 33+ HP and TQ over the "other" tune and all my shifting problems are cured!

In my humble and inexperienced opinion, there is no comparison to a true dyno tune.

I dont want to name the "other" tuner because his service was excellent and tuning by mail is difficult at best. I had problems and didn't want to keep shipping PCMs back and forth. Glad i did the dyno, look at my numbers in my sig..no cam, N/A.

I agree, its like trying to get a physical done over the phone. You can give them the info, but its not like being in the office. Generally everything works out fine depending on the doctor. When the Whipple goes on, i will be getting the dyno tune for sure.

Installed my Wait4me tune last week, did the crank relearn, my 03 HD is a different truck now!!! No problems at all , I will say the best thing so far has been, being able to pass without feeling like there was a boat anchor behind my truck, have not really noticed an increase in mileage yet. The tune was the stage 1, shift points are better, and when in tow/haul mode they are much firmer, no worries merging into traffic either, when you hit the pedal it moves, compared to stock it was a big improvement. I will post any problems should they come up!!!

My tune from Jesse was excellent as well! Great service and it works!

I'm going to a Jesse Bubb Tune GTG in April. For $65.00 he will tune your PCM and do the CPS re-learn right there for you.

Since I was scared on having this done on my stock PCM I bought a working junk yard PCM (matched part number to stock PCM) of a wrecked '06 Silverado for $125.00 and will have him load the tune on that one and keep my stock PCM as insurance.
