Torsion Bars

Any Ideas on how to tell if the 99 Z71 I bought used has had the t-bars cranked.  I have no idea how to tell if they've been done already and would hate to "double-dip".  Thanks.

Best bet would be to measure from the fender to the center of the wheel on both the front and rear and see how different they are.  Also see how much thread you have left on the bolts.  I can't remember exactly what my measurements were before cranking them, seems like there was almost 3 inches difference front to rear.

Did you get an alignment after you cranked them?  How many turns did you go?  Also will this void the warranty in any way? thanks

It shouldn't void the warranty.  If you crank them more than a few turns, it wouldn't hurt to get the alignment checked.  Sometimes it will take your alignment out of spec, depending on which side of the adjustment spectrum your truck was set at when built.

I turned mine 4 turns each, (I took one turn on the drivers side then one turn on the passengers side until I got to the desired height) then adjusted so I had the same height from the ground to the bottom of the frame rail on each side. You will need to be on level ground to do this. I did have my allignment checked after and it was out.
