rikhek Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 I'm putting a tranny cooler on this weekend and need to remove the grill (99 new body style 1500). Would someone describe how the grill comes off. I see the push pins across the top but don't know what else holds it on and don't want to hear the dreaded "snap" of something breaking from a hidden fastner. Thanks in advance. Rick
gmcjoe Posted April 19, 2002 Posted April 19, 2002 Pretty easy. Pop the hood and remove the bolt to the right of the hood latch. There are four plastic fasteners, two on each side. The top two are just inside of the headlamps, the bottom two are betweent he parking lamps and the bumper. Give them 1/2 turn to release. Next, each end of the grill assembly has a metal clip into the fenders. Release the clips and the assembly is free.
rikhek Posted April 19, 2002 Author Posted April 19, 2002 Thanks! This site is great. So many people willing to help others and asking nothing in return. It makes me think there's still hope left! Rick
