I am looking into getting bed caps for my truck...I want the Black ones that have the diamond plating...

Will they affect my ability to put on a trifold tonnaeu cover?

Any suggestions bad/good before i put in the order?

Just put on a set of smooth Bushwacker bed/tailgate caps. Very good quality and fitment. Bonus for you they have diamond plate design available too. Only thing is they are a little harder to install than I expected. Mostly, due to my own fault though. (I'd be more than happy to tell where I went wrong to make your install way easier.) I also added a Wade front cap. Also of decent quality, but not as good as the Bushwackers. Happy hunting.

Edit - As for the fitment with your tonneau cover, I don't know. But, from what I have seen many people run bed caps and tonneaus together with no problem.

I have the DeeZee black diamond tread aluminum bed caps on mine and I love them. Not sure about the bed cover, but I am also thinking of getting another one. I used to have one, then got rid of it, put the caps on, now I kinda want a bed cover. The new styles these days are light years ahead of what was available 5 years ago.

If you get one, post your results please.

Thanks!

Don't get the hard plastic type, I had the wade caps on my GMC and they cracked very easily.

Now I run the GM caps with a Extang Sabre soft tonneau, the caps do not interfere with good tonneau systems.

My OEM tailgate cap sticks up about 3/16 of an inch at both top corners. I was thinking of putting an Extang full tilt tonneau on but I'm concerned about running into fitment problems. Do the aftermarket tailgate caps sit flush at the top of the tailgate?

Before I got the GM caps that I have now, I bought a set of Bushwacker diamond tread caps with holes for the bead stakes. The holes in the caps didn't line up with the holes in the bed rail. One was off by about half the size of the hole. They were very hard and brittle feeling. I sent them back and got the GM ones and have been very happy with them.

Here's a pic.

You won't have any fitment problems with the stock tailgate spoiler and an Extang cover,Actually on my '04 the tailgate spoiler could be a little higher,There is a little gap,I'd say about 1/8 inch, between the spoiler and the rear of the cover.
