Howdy, i have an 2003 silverado 2500LD, yes thats right LD not HD the logo on my door just says 2500, and i am wondering if anyone else has a truck like this? the only difference i see between the HD is a slight frame change in the rear, and a 600# towing difference, my truck is as follows:

2003

K2500LD

ext cab, short box

i believe these LD trucks only were out for 2003-04, and i've only seen one other truck like it! and i look all the time, so if you have this truck or have a comment feel free to post it!! thanks!! Ryan[/font][/b] :banghead:

I have the 04 2500LD. Liking it though the first 12k, no issues. Rides like a lumber wagon though, and I wish it sat up more in the front.

If you were worried about the ride you should get a 1500 as soon as you go to the 2500 the suspension, frame & tires are more robust. Hence the rougher ride.

I knew that when I bought it...I bought it to haul a slide-in truck camper and needed the beefy rear end/payload capacity. So while I realize there is a trade off, it still chatters the teeth once and a while on those washboard highways, I guess we'll always want the best of both worlds :banghead:

I had a '99 Silverado 2500. This was before the HD line. It had 6.0, 4L80E, had same hood as 1500s (unlike buldged up HD hood), and had an 8600 lb GVW instead of 9200 like 2500 HDs have. Loved that truck, wish I could have kept it but 6.0 and 4.10 gears were killing me plus growing family got me in my Yukon.

The 2500 has been around since '99. It was rebadged 1500HD for a couple years. You can now only get it as a crew cab short box now.

I had a '99 GMC 2500 EC Long bed....now that was a rare configuration. Hardly ever see an 8 foot bed anymore.

Our fleet vehicles use to be all 2500 EC SB 4x4 until they quit making them. Now depending on what we tow etc. we either get a 1500 EC SB or 2500HD EC SB.

2500HD has a bigger frame, full floating axle, and bigger brakes. The 2500HD has basically the same platform as a 3500 SRW.
