petemata Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Mr. GM Technician I have a problem. Several days ago I disconnted my battery for an hour so I could clean the engine compartment and work on some lights. After connecting the battery back and started the truck, I notice the engine rpm were fluctuating and the truck sounded like it was going to die. Did I loose all computer parameters? Do i have to take the truck back to the dealership? Is there something I could do on my own? Thanks in advance Pete
LS4U2NV Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Many moons ago. I took an autotech class. We were told that disconnecting the battery power to the computer would make the computer "stupid" in a sense, that it would have to relearn things again. And usually within 50 or so miles.... It would be better. HTH -Matt-
