Ok im gonna say screw the generic crap bulbs and buy better ones. I was looking at the Silverstars or the nighthawks by GE. I just wanted some feedback from people who have had these before. Also if i get these bulbs are they really going to be brighter than the stock ones? thanks.

Not that I give much stock into them anymore, but Consumer reports rated the Nighthawks better then the Silverstars, though having been in the lighting industry, Sylvania bulbs tend to last longer then General Electric or Philips.

I personally have never used the Nighthawks, but have had several pair of the Silverstars and know that they perform very well. They don't have the blue tint that some of the more expensive bulbs do, but they project a very crisp and defined beam. They also take away some of the anber effect that cheaper bulbs display. Try them out, I believe you will be impressed. Thanks

I bit this bug too. I went with the hawks b/c i was low on cash at the time and I've tried almost every one on the market before.

i'm not pleased with them. but for the considerable lower price, they are good quality. plus, they're only headlights. if you wanna drop cash on deer blinding, get some piaa add ons

Not sure about Nighthawks, but the SilverStars are amazing. I just swapped the factory highs and lows this weekend and the difference is like white vs. yellow(the white sheetrock wall in front of the truck was fun for testing this). Now I need the SilverStar fogs and some Stealth chrome ambers.

I read the same article in Consumer Reports...... I just ordered an HID kit (5000k bulbs, and ballasts) for $300.00 for mine

I've also read besides Consumer reports other tests that have said that SilverStars do not offer anymore lumens or illuminate the road any better over the factory bulbs and are merely a cosmetic improvement at double the price.

i have the silverstars in mine, i put high beams in the fog lights too, i got flashed a lot at first so i adjusted them down a bit, i do a lot of night driving and i like to see what is going on, the highs in the foglights are awsome for the ditches to see deer/critters!!!
