IMPORTANT!! 05 Silverado grille/bowite

I would like to know if it is possible to replace just the bow tie on the front of the grille instead of having to replace the entire grille. And if so is there a website that shows how to do it. I am going to court tomorrow and would like to if possible replace just the bowite, spending 50 at most instead of replacing an entire grille spending 450.

Thanks

The bowtie is a decorative piece that attaches to a flat bowtie plastic backing via plastic nuts. IF the decorative piece is the only part needing replacement, it is under $50.00. But, if that part of the grille is cracked or poked, then you would need to replace the entire grille.

Do you know of any sites that show how to replace the bowtie for me to use tomorrow?

Danged if I can explain it. Basically, you unclip a splash guard, which is black plastic attachment that ties the top of the radiator bracket to the grill. Remove that by carefully lifting up on plastic hold-down pins. They unsnap out, and then you can lift them upwards.

You'll then be able to get to the front of the radiator and likewise, you'll see the backside of the grille and the bowtie. Two plastic nuts attach the bowtie to the grille. Typically, I can pull that black splash guard out in under five minutes and have full exposure to the bowtie attaching nuts.

It is easy stuff. Just explore a bit.... Look the grille over and make sure the plastic holding the bowtie is not cracked. That would be a hard hit with a snowball to crack the grille.

Sorry to bother you, but could you tell me where to get the Texas Bowtie that is on your front grill or it can be the Rebel flag. Need something like that to show my colors down here in south Florida.

Thanks Farris
