Actually, it's only Frank that hides from Newbie.  Friz is probably busy doing a few 12oz curls  ;)

Alright, ALRIGHT!!!

God Bless America, I could hear you yelling form the back porch!

I got a Craftsman, 2.7hp, with the extendable side and back. it's a pretty nice unit. Now, I guess I HAVE to make the wife's plate rack.

Woodworking is fairly new to me, I've always been a motorhead. I like woodworking, I'm just not very good at it...yet.

me too Friz, we moved here when the last of the kids went off to college so I swore that I would surround myself with all of the tools I always wanted.....Jet Table saw, Delta Drill press, router table, compound miter, blah blah blah...I love working with them and they have been indispensible working on restoring this house.....just not real good at it yet...it is amazing though how good tools can make you look like a hero and actually know what you are doing when you really dont.  Keep looking at these dowvetail jig setups.....very $$$ though.....be careful....table saws have claimed MANY a finger.....two from my father in law!

As a general rule, I shy away from spinning, chewing, or grinding type tools while drinking, and vise versa.

Noisy, powerful tools sure are lots of fun, though!

If you think the woodworking tools around your house are fun, you ought to see some of the monsters at the cabinetry place where I work.  They got some huge machinery, pretty cool stuff when it actually works.  Just for example, they have 4 big sanding machines that are about 12ft tall.  And take rolls of sandpaper that are about 3ft in diameter.

You guys need to start getting into the metal working stuff.  I was all into the woodworking, accumulating tools and having a good ol time until dad bought me a welder last Christmas.  I'm like a boy in a candy store.  Wood is weak, steel is strong!  I still do a little bit with the saws, sanders, and drills, but I'm cranking that welder every chance I can get.  Now I just need to get together a few more metal tools and I'm set.

I would assume you have lots of metal working needs on a farm....I have always wanted to try out metal working but always thought there is only so much metal work needed in the average american non-farm home!  Maybe I am wrong....
