2001 2500HD Just stops running

I have 2001 2500HD 8.1L w/Allison Tranny. Some times (about once a day or so) the truck will just shut down, when driving down the road. No warning light or anything. it will restart and run fine the rest of the day after setting for just a min or two. I rented a code scanner to try to find the problem, but no error code where shown. has any one had this problem, Can anyone please help!!!

It's the crank position sensor. It's a pain to change but can be done (smaller hands are better). It's behind the drivers side head. The sensor can be broken while taking it out. You have to be careful. If you do break it, you'll have to pull the tranny to get it out. The part cost about $80 if I recall correctly. It took me about 2 hours to do it.

Yup, most likely Crank sensor, had a car that when warmed up, as soon as it hit closed loop it would die, but it would have to cool down quite a bit before it could start again. Pulled the crank sensor out and it was cracked.
