Alot of guys are running them including a few moderators here.  The only mod would be to crank the front torsion bars a few turns.

Welcome to the forum...  :D

Welcome to the site and yes, 285/75/16 will fit fine on your stock truck, you don't even need to crank your torsion bars.   I put 285 bfg mud-terrains on my silverado at stock height, and there was no rubbing whatsoever w/ the stock rims, and I know others on the site have too.   :D

yes they fit.  they look great too.  we've got 285 Sport King A/T's on our 2000 Z71 and they perform great.  it has a better ride, more ground clearance, and is better off road than with the 265's it had on it.  also, they do not rub or anything and we don't even have the torsion bars modded.

Big punn,

Why would't you go with 285's?

A local friend has a 99 chevy Z71 with 285/75/16 Dunlop AT's without adjusting the front suspension.  He has no clearance problems.  I can send a pic if you like.

If you do adjust your torsion bars, I would HIGHLY recommend an alignment soon after.

Personally, I have had my front end adjusted and aligned, but still have MANY miles left on the 265's on it.

I have 285's on 16 x 8 American racing rims and they don't rub at all. best thing I've ever done to my truck. check out the pictures with my link. put the 285's on you won't be sorry.

What if its not a Z71??? I do have the firm ride Z85. My truck has 245's on it now!  Was planning on getting 265's when these wear out but if 285s would fit I would like to try that!
