Halen5150 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I’ve had my magnaflow for over a year now. I like it, but it’s just too quiet most of the time. Sure, it’s mean at WOT, but so are most other mufflers. I want something louder, but not a flowmaster. I’ve done some reading, and a lot of guys like Dynomax bullets on these trucks. What do you guys think about ’em? I’m only running one SI/DO muffler right now. The bullets are pretty small...would I need one or two? I don't want a glasspack sound... I’ve heard some good things also about Ravin’ mufflers. Any opinions?
jackster06Z71 Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 anybody know how loud they are , i just orderd one and im gonna put a 2.5 inch cat bat dual , with a dynomax bullet , how loud with this be , the website says 2-4 dbs less than straight, thanks
Meatywand Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 how much do they run? I'm going to run true duals and I'm looking for good sounding, semi-cheap mufflers since I'm going to use 2
Halen5150 Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 They’re pretty cheap. Somewhere in the $40-$50 range shipped from Summit, I believe. I’m looking to go from one muffler to true duals, also. I hear they’re pretty loud and have a nice deep tone. I’m looking to get the 12” bullets, but they’re also available in an 18” muffler. I want to try something reasonably cheap like this, that way the loss will be minimal if I don’t like it. I have my tips exiting straight out the back by the tow hitch right now. I’m thinking of doing turndowns at 45-degree angles after the rear axle, or maybe even have both tips exiting just before the right rear tire. If you go with true duals, don’t forget the x-pipe.
