What are the numbers on sales for the GM vs Ford?  Either last years sales or the most recent sales. thanks!  a guy is trying to tell me the Fords outsell the GM's

I don't follow those statistics too closely, but Ford usually outsells Chvrolet and GMC as individual makes, but I think combined as "GM" trucks, GM outsells Ford.  Not 100% on that, but I remember seeing some figures that showed that, but don't remember where.  I think it was last years sales figures.

I think overall Chevy sells more then Ford . But on the truck side The F150 outsells the 1500.

Good point, I was thinking about the trucks only.

I think that GM as a whole outsells ford, but I believe in this last year chevy alone has outsold ford.  But, vehicle to vehicle, the F-150 is still the number one selling truck on the road.

I always thought that was true because you could pick up an  f-150 cheaper than a Silverado???? Alot of businesses just get whatever is cheapest and so do alot of people, they arent like a lot of us (only buy from a certain manufacturer) Just my .02

Yup, Fords are so cheap.  Everyone and their grandfather has one.

Dont really mean squat if you ask me.

Chevy/GM have more HP but 25 lb.s less torque.  But that dont mean jack either since 90% of Fords power is reached under 2000rpm.

So if your towing on the highway and trying to get up a hill or pass another vehicle, it aint gonna cut it

Yes, I witnessed a 5.4 dying out this weekend. My buddy has a '02 ext. cab FX4. We had it loaded down with a 4 place trailer, 4 atv's, and our gear. I noticed he put it in tow mode, and it was running over 2000 rpms. We tried to pass a car and barely made it! I think he only gained 5 mph in a 1/2 mile or more. I told him next time we are taking my truck. It didn't impress me the way it pulled that load, let alone getting less than 10 mpg and a tiny back seat for the girls. They were so cramped up back there, and me in the front seat also, we had to stop half way on a 75 mile trip because our feet were asleep. We aren't big people either, me being the heaviest at 160 pounds. It's probably a good motor for grocery shopping, but not for any trips longer than 35 miles with 4 people.
