I say keep the Coly/Canyon but I like your idea of the LS2.

i wouldnt mind keeping the colorado either as long as they put a v8 in it look at the dakota and mitsu raider, but they need to bring back the s-10

I do like the ol body style of the s-10. The canyon/colorado are nice, but they are priced to high. Hell for a loaded crew with 4x4 the sticker is at 30K. Hell for that price I'd buy a good ol v8 full size, (maybe just less on the options) for just a couple thousand more.

Why? They are "problematic".

I think they blew it by not at least putting the i6 like they do in the trailblazer.

The tow capacuty is a joke, it wont even tow my 18' bassboat.

IMHO the s10 4.3l combo was an awasome truck. It owuld pull just about anything and get decent milage to boot. I owned 3 of them, they worked well.

I used to have a '98 Sonoma, loved that truck. I'm still trying to get the dude who bought it to sell it back to me. I picked up an '06 Canyon, it's a nice looking ride, interior is very roomy, but I don't like the sound of the i5. 4.3 had a bit of a growl to it, this one definitely does not. Other than that it's a great truck.

its because its a 5 cyl

That and I didn't like the very generic interior. With all the used ones around here I would say many were disappointed with their decision to buy this truck.

I agree the Colorado/Canyon twins would have been much better with the I6 from the Trailblazer. As it is I think they are under powered at best.

i still think they need the 4.3 V^ and at least the 4.8 thats in the silverado's and i would like to see some nice leather packages and hopefully the LS2 and im dreaming for the LS7 with 500 hp

Phuck these I6 replies.. If the I6 was such a great engine why does the Trailblazer now offer a V8?

Yes the Colorado is under powered

Yes the interior is pathetically plain

And yes its Z71 "Offroad" package is pathetic.

But.. they finally fixed the seat handle problem that we had with the S10's.

Seriously, the Colorado should have come day one with a 4.8L V8 in addition to the I4 and I5. All it needs is the smallest V8 to dominate the class and not threaten GM's fullsize sales. That would resolve a majority of the issues.

But GM also needs to offer the H3 interior style in the Colorado. Colorado interior is pathetically plain.

GM also needs to offer a REAL Offroad package with these truck.

- Lose the all season crap tires.. put BFG AT KO All Terrains on the Z71s.

- Provide a REAL skid plate package that protects the oil pan, and front dif. something which the current package does not.

- Provide a stronger 8.5" rear axel like you get with the half ton Silverado's... Infact make the front and rear axels the same as the 1/2 ton trucks for added strength.

- And last get rid of these pathetic rear drum brakes. They sucked with the '94 - ' 97 4x4 S10's and they suck with the 4x4 Colorado's. When GM added 4 wheel disc to the '98+ S10's it solved so many problems.

Thats my 2 cents..
