Hilarious true story....Ricers, racing, cops,

OK so I am traveling down HWY 169 south bound through Tulsa on my way home this afternoon. Fairly busy 6 lane Hwy. I'm doin about 70, when I see these two ricers swerving in an out traffic behind me. These guys have to be doing 90+, no doubt about it. But these guys I mean are swerving hard in an out of traffic, and dangerously cutting people off.

So they both pass me, one on the right and the other on the left. One was a late 90's civic, dark blue and purple, with all the ground affect package, and huge spoiler, but it's missing the rear bumper/ground affect (looked stupid but that part is important)

The other is an Eclipse that's reddish/orange, with a full ground affects package and HUGE rear spoiler. (gay)

Well the Civic is in the lead, and gets into the middle lane first ahead of me, then the Eclipse gets in front of me right behind the Civic.

Well I don't even flinch, I'm just hoping that there is a cop up ahead to get these guys. It's probably been maybe 4 seconds since I saw them originally, things were just happening that fast.

Now all of a sudden I hear something odd. I had my window down enjoying the wind, when I heard this. And I hear this sound, and I immediately see something in the air shooting up from the front of the Eclipse. I can see this thing about 15/20 feet in the air, and I can tell It's going to land right on me. So I just GUN IT, hoping it misses my windshield. Well this thing lands right in the bed of my truck.

I still don't know what it is, but before I can blink I see the two ricers pulling over, so I am about to do the same as well. Well I pull over behind them about 12 car links back, because I'm not to sure how many of them there are. I get out and look at the damage to my truck. Well I look back there, and sure enough there is a ricer coffee can muffler sitting in the bed of my truck. I have a bed liner, and this thing kinda gouged it's self right into my bed liner, where the tailgate and bed meet. I lean over and try to pick it up, but stupidly I burnt the crap out of my hand. So I go and get my mechanics gloves, and have to pull kinda hard to get it out of my bed liner.

Well while I was doing this another guy pulls up behind me, in a truck and he's on the phone.

So I head over to the ricers, where now I can see that there is just 2 of them. And as I am heading there a cop pulls up also and pulls in between my truck and the 2 ricers. I'm pretty hot right now. And the cop gets out and tells me to stop, and stand behind my truck. The cop immediately goes up to the 2 kids and handcuffs them. And puts them in his cruiser.

Well the guy in the truck behind me comes up to me and tells me he's a cop. Apparently he had been following the kids, and was talking to his cop buddy who was on duty. That's why the cop showed up so fast and just handcuffed the kids.

Well me and the off duty cop walk up to the ricer cars, and I see the funniest thing. The muffler from the lowered Civic, came off, and shot up and hits the Eclipse in the hood, just putting a huge dent in it. Then the muffler I guess hits the windshield next, which is about ready to fall through which is what caused it to fly up in the air so high before I caught it in my bed, at 80 MPH.

Well a few more cops pull up, and we are all kinda of talking and laughing. They asked if I wanted to file a complaint/charges for the damage to my truck. I said no, because the damage was nothing really. Not worth the paper work.

Well they impound both ricers, and as their pulling up the Eclipse the windshield collapses and just shatters everywhere in the car. And the cops and I just laugh some more.

Sorry the story was so long, but it was a really funny experience. Just hope those kids learn a lesson.

Another true story.....

Last summer I was heading into town, 4 lane divided highway with light traffic, doing about 65mph and I see in my side mirror this ricer just screaming up behind be (typical oversized spoiler, fart can, etc). He jerks over into the left lane to go around me and just as he gets past me, about half a car length, I hear this rather loud boom. He's now leaving a huge trail of oil and there's a ton of smoke coming from under the hood as he's slowing down and pulling over to the shoulder behind me.

I laughed all the way into town.

ROTFLOL.....I wish I had been there for that one. Did the civic have gray vinyl's on the side? If so, I see it regularly on Lewis when working.

Mark, you ever see these on 169 guys again, lemme know and I'll pull out the RS. Gotta take advantage of those stock 2.73 gears before I change them!

It had grayish waves on the side. They weren't like ocean waves, but kinda like he drove through grey paint, and it kinda just splashed on the side of it. But I don't know if they were decals or not.

What's your top speed with those 2.73?

Ricers won't try me. They all just look at the truck, then look away. I don't know if they don't know what it is, and don't think it's worth their time, or they're scared of it. Either way, I've only gotten one or two of them (I only think one of them was actually trying to race me).

The speedo stops at 120, and I was still going, so somehwere after that..

it was as loud as heck though but I can't see someone swapping out the gears and leaving the 10-bolt.
