Wow that is not what I expected. Too bad it does not share more of the new Tahoe/Avalanche styling.

 

Looks more like a full sized Colorado.

 

The Chrome grille looks silly and cheap. The flared box is over the top. The rims are not a good complement.

 

Simply my opinion.

Does it have the 5 cylinder 3.5 liter engine too? As well as "high quality" General tires? :)

Honestly it will be easier to pass judgement when we actually see it. I'm actually more interested in the specs. HP/torque etc.

I was expecting cleaner lines also and they flattened the hood again( I like the raised hood on my "06) but yeah, we have to wait on the specs.

I think Chevy is getting to far away from what made it great to begin with, and I'm sure the GMC's will be the same. To complicated and foofy. If this is what GM trucks are going to, they are going to loose the MAN base when it comes to who's buying trucks.

I'm sure it will be like anything else though it will probably grow on us a couple of years down the road, kinda like a wort you get used to.

But right now my opinion is:

If I want something that looks like a Ford, I would buy a Ford, and it hurts me down low to even say that :happysad:

Wow... looks like the Honda Ridgeline and a Colorado mix. I don't like the looks of it at all. Where is the bold Chevy look at? If it wasn't for the emblem I wouldn't had know that was a Silverado. While there aren't too many reasons why I would be getting a new truck any time soon (I haven't even owned my 05 a year yet), the new Silverado doesn't have me wanting it. Maybe it will get more people to look at what GM has to offer and bring in new people to sell to. Whatever their reasoning, I hope somebody likes it and that it does what they want it to do... even if it does look like it is having an identity crisis. Just my .02. -Shoot2Thrill

I'm REALLY not liking the new silvy.............looks like GM keeps lowering the trucks year after year and now its looking like they mashed a honda and toyota truck together and came up with the new silvy.

 

I hope it looks better in real life............ :happysad:

Too much g.d. chrome again on the grille. Every year there's more and more chrome. It's a TRUCK! I liked the grilles on the GMC's a few years ago, then they had to make the chrome band even wider all around. Why not do away with the grille completely and just make the front end ALL chrome with a bowtie in the middle of it. Gaudy as all hell. IMHO.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this thing looks like a turd!

 

Front bumper. All chrome except plastic corners?? It this a Titan thing?

 

But wait, the rear bumper is the opposite, plastic center with chrome outers. Does the word "mis-match" come to mind?

 

Bulging fenders??? If I wanted bulging fenders I would buy an H3. They look like H3 parts bin fenders in my opinion. Hell, the entire bed looks like it came from Dodge, including the tail lights!

 

The roof rack has GOT TO GO and the wheels are ugly and too small. Aftermarket wheel companies must have kicked in for ugly stockers, as they will make a small fortune selling Silverado replacement wheels!

 

The headlight assembly looks like they drew a futuristic 1987 models headlights and I agree, too much chrome on the HUGE grill. Why not just slap a F-350's grill on the front? Wait, that WOULD be better, have you seen the '07 Superduty pictures?? Hell, they are worse than this abortion of a truck!

 

If the interior matches the exterior of this truck, they have made a grave mistake! The Tahoe/Suburban/Avalance and the GMC counterparts were received well and look nice and clean. This thing looks like a train wreck between the H3 Design department and the playland at McDonalds!

 

 

 

Sorry to be so harsh, but it is just plain ugly! :happysad:

AWWW isnt that cute....NOOO that freken sucks. I am soooo dissapointed it is not even funny. I am so glad i have my 03...i will never sell it. That honestly looks like a toy that belongs in a girls dollhouse. It looks like crap. I hate to be so negative about a GM product, but honesty who are they trying to market too with that truck (sissys who also own BMW's)

 

It looks like a ford that got into a train wreck and somehow got a chevy badge on the front. It will have no clearance whatsoever and there is way to much going on with the front end. People who buy trucks want it to look like a TRUCK. Well i hate to say it but no one who wants a truck is going to be buying this unless the starting price is under 10K.

 

All i have to say is that i am really reall dissapointed with what GM is done and it is going to hurt their most valuble sales market...the truck. Be prepared guys Gm is gonna take a hit for this one.

 

NOTE: I HAVE READ THAT THESE PHOTO'S ARE FAKES....DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY TRUE EVIDENCE OF THIS?

      I've installed cheap eBay new aftermarket digitizers before.  They work.  Did a bunch of Cadillac CUE (aka Cadillac's MyLink) for someone years ago.  They all worked fine after the repair.    That number 22740886, that is a component part # for GM.  You can use it to search, but its not something that's obtainable at the dealer level.     So pretty much any of these will work - 2015 Colorado Digitizer for sale | eBay

      You can install tailpipes that direct the exhaust sideways vs the OEM one that goes straight back. There are several on the market, do you own research. HOWEVER, you need to make sure the Venturi vents are still intact, otherwise it will throw a engine code. There is a sensor somewhere that detects back pressure on the exhaust. And if it doesn't collect the correct metrics, it will throw the truck into limp mode.

      "Teardown" is complete. Head surfaces are clean and ready, new intake is prepped and ready. Coolant drained and water pump is removed, radiator is removed, new hoses and pump are ready.   The replacement intake is also from a '95 (with I think 260k, the odometer said). Noticeably less pitting where it covers the rear coolant passages. I'm not sure if that's a tribute to more frequent use, more frequent coolant changes/upkeep, or if the intake was machined at some point. But it appears I found a good one.   My coolant hoses were original, and the lower hose still retained the factory spring inside. It's not really rusty, but it's got deposits all over it. Unsure if I should re-install it (will thoroughly clean it first). Someone said hose technology has gotten better since 1995 (has it?) and I don't need the spring. I think modern EPDM is what made those hoses last from 1995-2026, so it's a question of how much suction can the water pump really pull, and will it collapse the hose without a spring?   I'm stopped and waiting for parts, however.   When I first brought the truck home, the fan was intermittently hitting the radiator shroud. I could see someone had monkeyed with the shroud (put a bunch of cardboard as a spacer between the upper/lower shroud halves. Someone said the motor mounts have likely failed and the engine has sagged. I wasn't sure I believed that. The engine is really solid in its mounts: To remove the old intake I *just* nearly permanently welded to the heads with freshly cured RTV and gasket snot two weeks ago, I literally had to use the arms on my lift and a chain with a bolt attached to the intake to pull it loose. It almost picked the front of the truck off the ground before ....scuuuuuuuuuuup.... I could actually hear the gaskets tearing and it broke loose and the whole truck settled back down. Motor barely moved.   SO, those parts I'm waiting on... The lower radiator mounts/bushings had completely failed. The radiator needs to be insulated from the rad support, and the bushings help the rad stand at the correct height. The plastic "baffle" was also destroyed at some point. Someone had attached the shroud to it incorrectly, overlapping a joint that should have been underlapped, creating another suspect issue potentially causing things to hit the fan. Broken tabs, side is busted off, and it's perma-formed/bent where it was jimmied incorrectly.   The baffle? Unobtainum. Long since discontinued from GM, of course. Aftermarket/capa/chinese? Also unobtanium. In GM's infinite wisdom, it appears there are at least two different variations whether the Blazer is 2 or 4 door, and I can't yet tell if they shared the same part with the S-pickups. Plan B, if I can't find a viable used one, will be to create a bracket to re-assemble the critical joint I need to seal a gap with the shroud. But that will bug me, it won't be...perfect.   The water pump bolts appear to have been installed with...plumber's putty. I guess, sure, if it works...? I've found a few "backyard fixes" like that. Someone's been here before....   If I can't find someone to jam bamboo under my fingernails to fill my free time this week I think I'll install the driver's power window motor and replace the rear door speaker that's inop. I've got a genuine GM "9.5" ohm working replacement. Why GM used a non-standard resistance....nevermind. Of course they did, you can get more sound from a cheap factory amp that way.   And the saga goes on...
