1badrock Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I just noticed the sound of a bad u-joint and I'm about 200 miles away from home and I am not sure if its possible to have someone fix it tom and being without any tools.....I am kinda out of luck to say the least. In worst case cenario is it possible to drive it with the fronts only driving(for example a rear u-joint broke) on the way back tom. Im gonna try to get it fixed but im kinda nervous if i wont be able too. This might be a stupid question.....sorry and thanks in advance Rich
Daubs Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 If it were my truck, I would get rear u-joint fixed. I would not drive my truck by the front wheels, period. That's just me.
GetMore Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I had a rear u-joint act up recently. It was somewhere in the beginning of the 800 mile trip that I noticed it squeaking. By the halfway point it was pretty loud. I was worried about it, but it made it home fine. I have been told that they will last for quite a while like that. (As in months) Just drive it home, you will be fine.
