Anybody else like cleaning there truck? I love it. I like to see that puppy shine when its clean. So to keep it shining and to protect it, I bought a cover for it. But the stupid cover smears the truck. Anybody else have the same problem? Or did I just get screwed on the cover.

Mine stays pretty clean most of the time.  My neighbors think I'm nuts.  They could be right.  What kind of car cover did you get?  I have one of the Evolution 4 material covers for my cars.  If I leave them parked outside overnight with the cover on, the dew in the morning leaves some streaks and spots on the roof and glass.  After a while the cover gets a bit dusty and leaves dirty spots on the car.  Also any protectant that is put onto the plastic surfaces will be absorbed by the cover material and streak the paint.  Just keep the cover clean and it makes it better.  And never put it on when the truck is dirty.  It can lead to swirl marks in the paint.

My family thinks i'm nuts too for cleaning my truck so much, oh well. I think i might have the same truck cover as you-the Evolution 4, except they call it the 400 series now. But i'm not sure. I got it from JCWhitney. How do you clean your cover. The directions for mine say leave it the truck and wash it down, but i don't like the sound of that.

I am a clean freak too. And every weekend I bring my truck to our camp drive it on dirt roads and park under pine trees. Needless to say I have a cover too. It was a birthday gift so I'm not sure the exact model but it says coverking on it. I never get streaks and its had rain on it and everything.

I usually take mine to one of the large commercial washers to do it.  It has to be the really large ones.  I don't like the idea of washing it on the vehicle.  Not only do you rinse all the dirt to the car/truck, but the sun bakes the thing dry afterwards.  Usually before I put the cover on, I go over it with one of the California Car Dusters.  This gets all of the road dust off so it doesn't collect in the cover.  Just one note, make sure that the surface of the vehicle is not hot when you do the duster or it will leave paraffin streaks.  Trust me, I've had this happen a few times.

I have read that the new Kimberly Clark covers are kind to the surface, but, like anything else lightweight, blows off

during a good wind. The green huts are popular, if you have the room.

Have a great one!

Hey mpalombo,

You wouldn't happen to know where the cover came from. Was it custom made? I'm really disappointed with my cover. I clean it to make it sparkle and keep the dirt off etc... but at the same time I put the cover on it to protect it from the sun and then it gets all smeary again. I have to give up one for the other. It really ticks me off. Sure would like to know what cover your talking about.
