Licence plate lamps

While washing the truck the other day I noticed one of the licence plate lamps was loose. I then found out the entire thing is plastic. Cheap a$$ plastic on top of that. They are held in place by tiny nubs. Mine must have disintegrated so now I got duct tape holding it in. Cant wait to see what they charge for a new one. Worth about 50 cents, probably charge 30 bucks!! Solid as a rock... yea right. :seeya:

Luckily mine are chrome but they have since cheapened those little boogers up more so that now they are a lovely shade of textured black plastic... I wonder if you can still get chrome ones, I've been worried about one of mine breaking and being stuck with black instead of chrome.

Mine are chrome also. I was always under the impression they were metal. No, just cheap chrome PAINTED plastic. You figure at least they would use a better retaing clip, but all they are is little nubs.

Do what I did, Palce a nice neat bead of clear silicone around the base of the "cheap a$$ plastic light" and than put it back in place. Been about 4 months since and still holding fine.

I got rid of my chrome ones (sitting in a box somewhere???) and replaced them with the black ones. Look much better in my opinion. Cost was like $4 or 5 for 2
