what is it for ?

Just noticed on frt of 04 burb grill lower section. There is 2 long rubber incerts that appear to be removable. Are they for better air flow or water protection

I took mine out for the whee of it and well the engine didn't explode and no martians have landed... I think it gave me 15hp. Really, I don't know what they are for, obviously.

I don't know if they have a true function or not. Could be for better air flow... whatever?? I've taken them out on all 3 of the Z's I have had with no problem whatsoever.

Any deflectors or rubber pieces are there for aero dynamics and will affect the fuel economy.
