"Static" type noise

Has anyone else experienced a "static" type noise from the passenger side of the windshield?  I just started noticing this yesterday while going about 65MPH.  I have abou 800 miles on my 2002 4.8L ext cab 4X4.  Is this the infamous windshield weather stripping noise?  It sounded almost like the stereo speaker on the passenger side was producing the sound at first, but then I realized that it was only happening at ~50MPH and above.  Anyone else experience this?  Anyone know the cure?  Take it to dealer, or bypass the hassle and fix it myself?

Any input would be appreciated!

Do you have a bug deflector on the front of your truck?  If so id say the noise you describe is the weatherstripping problem.  Id say fix it yourself.  Just get some 3m tape (doublesided) and tape the weatherstripping it is very simple

Sounds exactly like what I had.  Happened above 55 mph and worse in a strong headwind or crosswind.  Almost sounded like someone tapping on the windshield with fingernails.  I tacked the side weatherstripping down with Loctite 330 (or maybe it was 495).  Just pry the rubber up a bit and shoot some in.  Anyway, works like a charm.  Why this is loose to begin with is a mystery to me.  The top and bottom are real snug.  Oh well, easy fix.  And yes, it did seem to show up after I installed my EGR bug 'flector.

Yep,

I do, in fact, have a bugflector II.  I bet that's what it is.  I'll take a trip down to the store to get some double sided tape this afternoon.  I'll let you know how it goes.
