Steering wheel controls

My truck has the plain steering wheel with no controls. If I purchase a new wheel with controls is the wiring etc. all there for DIC and radio controls, or am I just wishful thinking?

Thanks anyone!

Checkout http://www.jpcustoms.com - they sell kits, but you may be able to see what is included.

What I mean is...is the factory wiring underneath my existing wheel-just not hooked up to anything? or is there no wiring underneath at all?

You can convert your truck to use the "Driver Information Center". Underneath your non-controlled wheel there is a wiring harness that has to come off and you can buy the correct harness from gmpartsdircet.com for the controlled wheel to work. The harness will run you about $250. It takes about 2 hours to put the new harness in.

After you get everything back together, you have to go to your dealer and they have to flash 2 new codes onto the computer for the controls to work. You have to have a good dealer to do this because I have read some won't do it because it is not a factory modification. The dealer charged me $60 to flash the 2 codes.

Search "DIC" and you will have enough reading for days.
