im going to be selling my burb maybe, and im looking at the 2500hd and the 2500 dodge. But for the 2500hd with teh dmax and 6 speed etc, what are you guys paying msrp/otd/discounts. I know chevy had the whole discounted thingies last year but do they still hand out discounts left and right?... ive been away on the gm scene because i picked up a little subaru wrx sti. Also do you guys have any problems with the 6 speed allison, or is it the best chevy you've ever owned? 650 lb-ft sounds pretty sweeeet.

2-weeks into my new 06 Duramax 2500HD

Picked up a $50k list truck discounted to $45 then pulled down to $42 with $1500 in trade-in allowance and $1500 in "rebates".

This was here in So. Cal. - dealers still hungry to move product.

Sweet truck. Drives much better than my 01 2500HD 8.1L/Allison

Hearing nothing but good things about the 6 speed Ally and the new DMax. Get one now before the new regulations go into effect in a year or so. Also the Ally in 06' got a new double capacity tranny cooler. This is helping to really keep the Ally cool during stop and go traffic. As soon as someone has the retro kit to put one on the pre 2006 models, its going on my truck.

I bought a 2006+ Duramax/Allison Crew Cab/Short Box LT-3 in February. While most fuys were watching the Super Bowl, I was arguing and getting dirty with the salesman.

This is BY FAR the finest truck on the planet.

And it is likely to stay so, with the Federal Diesel Emmision standards coming online January 1, 2007.

The LBZ engine is unbelieveably powerful and just purrs, no matter what the load. And the six-speed Allison 1000? Hmmm, might be the best part of the deal.

GM is going to have to go very far indeed to better the 2006+ D/A. The 2007 will be called "The Classic" and it will be identical to the 2006+ and it will be replaced by the new body-style and new emmision LMM engine in early-2008.

Get the D/A now, my friend. The deals are great and the rig is the best-of-breed. I absolutely promise that you will not be dissapointed.

thats awesome, i absolutely love the look of the new hd's with the towing mirrors, and that gray metallic looks awesome, dogzapper... im going in today to test drive one and see how much they'll give me for my yukon, its only got about 16,000 miles, i might even wait a little to see if the 8.1 goes up in value.
