I have a 2001 GMC Sierra 1/2 ton SLE 2WD Ext-cab and I am trying to figure out what air deflector/air dam and fog lamp kit I need to put fog lamps on my truck. My truck came with a deflector with openings for the recovery hooks, but not openings for the fog lamps. I have found these numbers searching the web, but do not know which air deflector I need of these three:

(I am guessing that 'with fog lamps' means 'with openings for fog lamps')

Also, I was told by an individual that the fog lamp kit I needed was part number 12495929, which included the wiring, lights, mounts, etc. I also found out on the FSC forum that I would have to get my local dealer to reprogram the body control module for the computer to recognize the lamps.

 

I plan to install everything myself, take the truck in for a service job, and try to weasel that part in for free. The truck is at 17,800 and only has had oil changes, and since I'm halfway (almost) on the warranty I figure a good once over by the dealer wouldn't be a bad idea.

So do you have the tow hooks? Is this the one you want? Then it would be your 3rd one listed. BTW, that is Nineball's truck from LS1Tech.com. And yes, the rest of the info you received is correct.

Thanks! Mine does have the tow hooks. Funny they should list the part number as 4WD, even though the part can also be used on a 2WD. Anyway, thanks again....

Yep, the dealer will have to preogram the BCM in order for the fog lights to work.

 

Hopefully they will hook you up for free.
