Hey all,

I have an '05 Silverado with the bose indash 6 disc and XM radio. I was wanting to add an auxilary input to play my IPOD. Does anyone know which one I should buy? I have an fm transmitter but it sucks so I want something wired. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

Any of your local stereo shops should be able to help you . I use a company called Periphrial (who also has the "stinger" brand. They have an interface that works o.k. , any of the factory interfaces for ipod dont seem to work that great. The best way is to replace your headunit , but since you have bose you need more modules . I have been a car audio installer for 20 yrs. and I am the general manager of one of the bigger stores in northern Ca.( just so you know my creds. )

so I have played around with every option..... :D

The Periphrial company that you use, does the interface work fairly well? I don't need my stereo to control the IPOD. I can use the ipod to control itself. I jsut want it to play through my speakers and sound good with no static. I don't want to replace my factory stereo because I think replace the headunit looks bad. I haven't seen many I like the looks of. Most look funny if you just replace the headunit. So I would like to avoid that. But I do want something that works well with the factory stereo. Thanks for the advice!

**CLICK HERE** for super-easy to install, plug-n-play solutions. They even let you use your normal controls to command the iPod.

Welcome to the forums, BTW

I have a 2005 Suburban and although I have steering wheel controls the radio does not have an Aux button, just a button marked Tape/CD (and a single CD player not a changer). Does the radio still have an aux input on the back? Can I use one of these plug-n-play devices?

Thanks

I have the #USA-PA11-GM45 from USASpec in my '02 Tahoe with the stock radio. Work pretty good. Only complaint I have is that is sometimes gets confused and doesn't know that my ipod is connected or not. It really only happens if I'm impatiient and unplug it while it is in the middle of a song. It just takes an unplug ipod, turn off truck, plug in ipod, turn on ipod to clear it.

I like it because I can plug in the sat. radio or my dvd player for long road trips.
