Emerg flashers & turn signals quit - help!!!

Went and picked up a load of dirt in my trailer and took it slow and easy on the way back home. Stayed in the right lane with my emergency flashers on untill I was ready to turn into the neighborhood. When I came to the stop light, I instinctively put on my left turn signal (while the emergency flashers were still on) and noticed that they were not working- both the turn signals and the flasher were not working. I don't know if they quit before I turned on the turn signal or when I activated the turn signal. In any case - NO turn signals or emergency flashers. I HAVE CHECKED EVERY FUSE UNDER THE HOOD AND ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE INST PANEL AND PUT IN A NEW GM COMBINATION FLASHER (PART # 12450072) AND STILL NOTHING. Any ideas on what I might be missing?

I recently had the same problem. I have a 98 Z-71, and my whole rear tailights went out. Check the clip where the wiring harnesses clip onto the light boards. I tightened my connection by using some needle-noses. Also...you might have a loose ground...check those out too. Hope this helps...

Thanks, but I already checked that too. Wondering if there is a fusable link somewhere or if it could be IN the emergency or turn switch itself.

I'm not sure about the newer trucks, but on my '97 under the hood there are two relays not fuses that could possibly cause this. One is the brake lamp relay and the other is the stop/hazzard relay. I don't know how to test other than to buy new ones. Just a thought.

On the newer ones like mine, it has a "combination flasher" #GM 12450072 which plugs into the BACK SIDE of the dash fuse panel located on the end of the dash (driver side). I bought a new one but still no results.
