DVD/VCR Recorder

Lightning took out our Sylvania combo DVD/VCR recorder. Just was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a better brand player out there. The Sylvania only wrote to DVD-RW disc's and not DVD+RW. It wrote to DVD-+R's fine. I'm up for suggestions. Been doing some searching but my spare time is limited with work and the kids.

We have a Panasonic that is great, but its not VCR also. It's a DVD changer. I think it was bout 199 at Fry's.
