I have an '05 Trailblazer and just 2 weeks ago and noise is coming from the AC Vents in the center of the dash. It almost sound like something was shaken loose and makes noise when I hit any type of bumps. Has anyone had this problem? Any idea of what it might be? I check to see if it was the regulator flaps that control the air coming through the vents, but the looked stable to me. I have not idea what it might be.

Thanks.

I take it it happens whether the fan is on or off. Any chance kids put something in the vent or that something was on the dash that slipped into a vent?

No Kids. It almost sounds like it is the plastic flap that opens/closes the vent, but when I closed the flaps and held them closed, the noise still occurs. You are right -- it happens when it is turned on or off. THe noise is too consistent for it to be something that fell into the vent -- it sounds too much like a factory part.

If it is a steady clicking noise, you need a mode actuator. When it is doing it, change the mode ie. defrost to floor to panel and see if it changes the noise or stops it all together. If it does then it is the mode actuator.
