So, Since I been having troubles with my explorer I decided to go switch it for a newerish SUV. and found a 2000 Denali, not knowing GMC trucks to well and it looking very nice, is it having 100k miles on it a problem. later today i will find out what has been worked on and if its got correct tune ups in all. but from that other post about buying a 100k car ...seems not a horrible idea..just need little reassurance. or things to look for when i go look at it

My truck has 103k miles on it and it is in excellent condition and I honestly feel that it can go another 100k without issue.

If the rig is clean and the price is right, go for it! The Denali is a sweet ride!

I don't know how much you are willing to spend but I used to own 1999 Denali (silver) and basically it is the 99 Tahoe with body cladding and two tone leather interior. If you can afford more cash, go for 2001+ Denali with 6.0. They are different animal than normal Yukon. Just my two cents.

I would also recommend trying to find a 2001 or newer if you can. I know as I had one of the 2000 models, I had lots of problems with mine. I dumped it off at 88k, and I purchased it with 64k on it. It was the least mileage car I had ever purchased and thank god I had a warranty on it. As everything that went out on it was very expensive. It seemed to need alot of front end work, and from what Carfax reported and the dealer stated to me, it had never been wrecked.

I now purchased a 2003 Suburban, and I love it a million times more than my older Denali.

That year Denali, or at least the one I had sucked in the snow, where as I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee before, 94, and that thing was a monster in any terrain.

I will see how the burban does this winter, but the burban gets better gas Mileage and it is a much smoother ride than my 2000 denali.

I would not pay more than about $10,000 if you were going to get it. I would even try to get it more like for 8-9k if you can.

I picked up my Burban, fully loaded Leather, heated seats, dvd players in the head rests and front passenger visor, Bose stereo with in dash 6 cd changer, 5.3 FlexFuel V8, 4x4 loaded to the brim for $18,500 with 60k on it. So that is something to compare to.

Hope this helps.
