100K service 4.8L Silverado

Recommended Posts

Posted

My 03 4.8L Silverado is approaching 100K miles and I'm wondering what I need to do. I have changed all fluids (trans , diff, coolant, engine oil) and was going to replace the spark plugs and plug wires, but couldn't pull the wire off the plug for fear I would rip it apart.

Any tips for plug and plug wire removal?

Any other items due for attention?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If you plan on replacing the plugs AND wires, don't worry about ripping the wires if they are difficult to remove...give it a yank.

when you replace your plugs, put a little antiseze compound on the threads, and use some dielectric grease in both boots coil/plug. i found put a healty dab in the boot and roll it between your fingers, it will spread out evenly inside. so the next tine you have to pull plugs/wires it will be a snap.....

.
