v6 t0 v8 engine swap

Hello, we are new to the forum. my son is doing a v6 to v8 engine swap in his first truck. he has a 1989 chevy 1500 2wd auto. we also have a wrecked 1988 c10. we want to remove the v6 tbi and install the v8 tbi. we are unsure if the wiring harness is the same and if we can get away with just swapping the computer. we can remove the whole wiring harness if needed. any input on any thing we have not thought of. thanks in advance.

well we did the swap in my buddys 95 4x4 from a 4.3 to a 5.7 and the wiring all worked we just swaped computers
