No clue. I barely remember 1997 let alone 1987. I'd say it breaks out of a main harness near the distributor. Or, the passenger side of the firewall.

If I recall correctly, it's on the passenger side firewall under a relay cover. I think the Haynes manual shows a picture of it there. The only reason I remember that was because mine was under the glovebox. Haynes didn't show that for my 95.
