Stereo Options 99 GMC Sierra Classic

Sorry for the double post I put this in the tech section as well.

 

I am wondering since my 99 is identical to the 98 GMC Sierra, were all trucks fitted with the tweeter speaker grill integrated into the door panel armrest regardless of the option level of the stereo or trim?

 

Is it possible that the lower end trim had no tweeter grill and that the armrest continued on as a pad to the forward part of the door panel?

 

Or, with the SLE trim and base stereo system, would there have been a tweeter grill or not?

 

Reason I ask, the driver interior door handle had broken about a month ago. When I was replacing it I noticed that the wiring lead for the tweeter was there but no tweeter mounted into the grill on the armrest.

 

I ordered the stereo upgrade which should have been UQ3 but shows as UQ5 on my options tag. The stereo did make it into the truck but it did not show up on the window sticker. The tweeter part number is 15177051.

 

The dealer says that its been too long since I purchased the truck and that I should have pointed that out previously. I would never had known until I removed the door panel to repair the handle.

 

This truck was in the dealers system to be built as a dealer order when the salesman changed the build designation from a 2wd to a 4wd with SLE trim and stereo upgrade. There were options I received that I did not order which may explain why some items did not show up on the options label or perhaps why I did not get the tweeters but got the stereo.
