In my04 burb the CD player works fine until I play copied cd's for a long time. They get stuck and or stop working. Dealer told me its only with copied CD's and he pulled my 30amp fuse and 15amp radio fuse to reset my factory radio. Is this normal and have nay of you guys had this problem. Also CD's get very hot.

Try a different brand of blank cds. I like to record them at lower than maximum speed. your burning software allows this setting.

I have been making and playing my own music cd's for years and have never had a problem with them. Try a different brand as suggested and don't go for the cheapest brand available.

I've found that I can't burn CDs at the max setting or they won't read in newer factory CD players. Also, certain brands of CDs will work at higher burn settings than others. It all varies.

I just had the same happen and actually the cd is still stuck in the slot wont play and wont eject. Then i find out that with the bose setup there is no such thing as replacing the deck unit without changing every speaker and not only that the complete system would need to be rewired! :nopity:

I'm calling the Bulls**t card on that one, that doesn't make fiscal or physical sense to make a part so exclusive that the WHOLE system has to be replaced. That means that if you blow a speaker than GM has to pay for an entire new system down to the wiring. I understand maybe the amp and MAYBE by some stretch that the speakers have to be replaced to match ohm loads etc. etc but why the hell would you replace the wiring. i think somebody is playin you for a fool.

Im not being played for anything, im just going off what 3 out of 3 car install establishments told me.I do not have the standards system it is the bose setup to which ive seen similar complaints. There is no way i can buy a aftermarket headunit and plug it in and have it work with the stock setup, it will take new speakers along with new wiring to said speakers or atleast thats what every place has told me.

I cut my losses short and bought a 2gb ipod, no more lugging around cd's or making dupes of them to take in the car.I have pretty much put 20 or so cd's on this thing and still have room for another 20.

You also have to remember that stereo install places don't really make much off the actual installation of stereos. They don't make their money up front either. They make money by selling you s**t you don't need, and then installing it for you...rewiring your entire sound system is a LONG job and they're going to get paid pretty good for it.

Which is why you just install everything yourself. It really isn't that hard to do, and a helluva lot cheaper. And speakers are speakers. It would be pretty hard and expensive to make a speaker that would only work with one specific head unit.

Completely agree with you. There is very little that I won't take the time to install myself.

You could always make friends with someone who has all that, buy them some beer, and let 'em at it!

Thats what I like my friends to do anyway :flag::)
