Ok So I go to the pool hall with some friends had a couple of drinks and an hour later. I came out to find out that my truck got broken into. They pry the door near the key hole with something. So now I got a door that looks all jacked up and my steering column is all screwed up. d**n thieves have nothing to do better on a sunday and it all happen in broad daylight. On a good note they didnt take anything. Now I got to deal with the insurance tomorrow. :) poor truck.

To me they wanted the truck as a whole because my Alpine radio was still in tack they ransack my glove compartment. Lucky they didnt look under the back seat to find my craftsmans tool and my bag with all my trailer hitch and watnot. And when I called to make a report they didn't send an officer. I had to make a report over the phone. I was talking to a friend and I was like what could u possible want out of a stock truck maybe for parts who knows I wish I caught them I think I would've been the one going to jail.

oh yea..I used to work at a place by a mall that cars were constantly getting broken into. Me and a buddy that I worked with had identical 94' Silverado's (his was blue though) and his was broken into 3 times and then finally stolen the 4th. Mine was broken into once. Stole my entire center piece (stereo and AC vents). Guess they didn't wanna waste any time disconnecting wires, because they just yanked it all out.

I always said that if I lost my mind I would get an AR-15 or something and sit 50 yards out and just watch that lot. Be priceless to see the look on one of their faces as their buddy gets dropped from far out.

grr...brings back memories. I found my truck broken into after I'd stayed a little late to help out the overnight crew. Never again though... :)

I used to cut sheet metal and sharpen it and mount it in key locations under the dash. Came out several mornings to find blood on the carpet.

A good kill switch is worth its weight in gold, is easy to install, and if done well will never be found. And for those of ou who think you who think your vehicle is too ugly to bother, many theives think that you are already inclined to that attitude and will steel your rig anyway becasue it is easy.

Hope you don't get in a accident with all those daggers sticking out.

I have seriously considered the sheet metal trick because damned if they are gonna get my laptop again.

The sheet metal was all under the dash to protect the stereo. I also managed to take the round key lock from a hood pin kit and machine it into the ignition lock cylinder. The net result was not having a slot to thread a dent puller into. The non-tilt Mopar columns were better than the GM columns in the 70's because there was less in there to tamper with (the ignition switch and wheel lock were well protected and activated directly off the end of the lock cylinder). I also used hidden switches to divert the power used for the starter to the horn so that when the key was turned to start the horn would blast. I figured that once or twice and a thief would probably leave rather than keep attracting attention to himself.

Sorry about your break in, that is a very common method of entry to many vehicles these days. Jimmi Jammer is a metal plate that mounts between your door skin and the lock mechanism.

I am a Jimmi Jammer dealer, checkout our website - http://www.TruckTechinques.com
