Looking for a service manual

I'm looking for a service manual that will cover my 99 2-door Tahoe. I have only been able to find these selections:

 

- Chilton's 1988-1998 GM full-size trucks

- Haynes 1999-2005 (only covers 2000-2002 Tahoe)

- GM factory service manual for 1999 Tahoe/Yukon/etc for $100+

 

Is my truck close enough to either the 98 or the 00 model years that either the Chiltons or the Haynes will work? For those of you who have either of those books, how are they? I've heard that they're way too general and don't help very much.

 

As much as I'd like to get the factory service manual, $119 on ebay is a little steep. I've also heard that the factory manuals are tailored towards factory-trained techs (obviously) who have some specialized equipment and therefore the manual isn't all that useful to a shadetree mechanic. Do any of you guys have experience with the factory manuals?

I have the Helms for my Tahoe. I have also used a Haynes on a previous vehicle. There is really no comparison as the Helms is WAAAAY better. I have consulted it at least 30 times for various tasks. It also covers all similar models for that year. For example, mine has data on 1500 pickups, 2500 pickups, 3500 pickups, Tahoe and Suburban. I know it is expensive but in my case it was WELL worth the $$. It is six volumes about 2 inches thick each.

Helms is the factory manual. HELM You can buydirect from them. Expect to pay around $120.
