so i have lowered my 04 silverado 1500 with 2" shackles

in the rear and now it seems that the driver side is about a .5" to an inch

lower than the passanger side????? any idea's???

pretty noticable when i look at the back tires..

driver side looks nice, about a 3 inch gap or so, but on the passenger side

its like a 5 inch or so...

how can i fix this????

can anybody give me any ideas?

is that on a full tank of gas? Your truck isnt very old so I doubt the suspension is worn but my s-10 extended cab sagged a little too in the back drivers side. It too was lowered probably around 3-4 inchs in the back.

no need to worry. its the typical "chevy lean" almost all s series trucks have it and some fullsive. they come from factory like that and is because of the way the gas tank sits on that side.. just think a gallon of water is 8 pounds so say a 20 gallon tank, tahts 160+ of extra weight just on that side.

I have an 01 C-1500 2 wheel drive that sits on 1" lower on the drivers side as well. I just added extra leaf springs and installed Belltech 2" drop shakles. As I lowered the truck onto it wheels, I found it was still 1" higher then before the drop kit and it would not sag jumping on the bumper. I tow a 6500 lbs 30' travel trailer.

I then took it to a spring shop, they under arched the springs and I asked for them to compensate for the lean on the drivers side. After it was all done, my truck still leans to the drivers side and the truck is perfectly level front to rear (too level) Total rear drop is now 4.5".

They tell me the lean is in the front end, I am now looking for a 2" spindle drop. I have read in searches not to use the Belltech spindle drop as I will get tire rub and loss of turning radius. I also read in the searches to get a 1/4" rubber spacer for the drivers side front spring and this will level out the lean as this is common problem with our 2WD trucks.

I would say that you would be fine with a 2" shackle drop if you don't touch the leaf springs. What I did notice is that they call it a 2" shakle kit. If you measure the holes from the spring hole to the frame mount, it is 3"...Go figure???

A few things could be causing this problem. The first thing you should do before lowering any truck is to mesure the stock ride height. many times you will find that the truck is not level from the factory. What happens when you lower the truck is that the tire is closer to the body and any uneveness is more noticable after the drop. The other common problem may be that you tightened the bolts on the springs and shackles before you lowered the truck back on the ground and might have a bind in the springs. I would have the truck on the ground and losen the spring and shackle bolts, bounce the truck a few times and retorque all the bolts to spec. See if this helps.

I did a 4" rear shackle and hanger drop on the rear and a 2" belltech spindle on the front and my truck sags on the driver side also. Looks like s__t! The rear was bottoming out on bumps in the road so i installed an airlift kit. Now i put more air in the driver side to make up the uneveness.
