Don't sweat it dude.

These days with Hendrick, DEI, Evernham, Yates, & Roush Making their own engines, the aren't running true Brand Engines. The only thing that's really true to the Manufactuer anymore is the body.

I've been rooting for Mark Martin for as long as I've been a NASCAR fan (going on 15 years).

blocks and head castings are supplied by the manufactures, so yes they are true to the manufacturer, you can take a set of sb2 chevy heads from a cup/busch engine and mount them on pre vortec sbc blocks, the sheet metal is nothing close to oem parts, common templates dictate body shape/design.

actually they will be closer to OEM sheetmetal for 2007. I like how they will go with 1 body for car in 07 instead of 3 styles

the only one that even comes close now are the superspeedway cars

this car of tommarrow crap is a bunch of bs, it takes away from the individuality of the differant makes, part of what nascrap was originally all about. all it is going to be is iroc series racing now. nascrap can burn in hell next year with mike helton, brian france, and toyota.

nah it isnt taking the cars brand away, its giving it back. for 2006 and before, they had 3 different bodies for each car for the, road race, short, and superspeedway track. The superspeedway car was really the only one that matched the OEM sheetmetal the closest. For 07 they will only have 1 body for each brand that has to match pretty darn close.

The only thing I dont like about it is nascar will make them all run the same chassis. Right now they have a little leeway on how they build em.

I would have to say those need flipped IMO, I cant remember them racing anything similar to production cars since the 80's, and IMO that was the best racing Nascar ever had or will have. "Nascar" as well as the drivers and teams are way too commercial now, nearly all of those drivers now are in it for the money, they cant say they arent or they would be racing somewhere else where the racing is genuine. Like I said, I prefer the racing from the 80s where the cars on the track looked like cars in the showroom, had 2 doors, an available V8, and were rear wheel drive (true race car material). I happen to have one of those metric cars that I race on local dirt tracks where the racing is 10 times better than current day Nascar, where drivers, family, and friends work on the cars and where you dont think about the check at the end of the race because there definately isnt a noticeable amount there. Also true race fans will support local racing and local drivers. I'll post a pic of my car if anyone is interested, also a picture of an '86 Nascar race car of the same type for those newbs that never saw "real" racing.

Yep, That was rael racin. You could even go into the pits and hang with the drivers back than and you didn't need to get under someones desk to get there. I remember having a beer in the pits with Harry Gant back in the 1980's at the Oxford 250 here in Maine. Boy I miss that era of racing.

i dont understand how you think they are giving any individuality back, because in case you didnt know, the cars of tommarrow will all fit the SAME templates whether its a chevy, ford, dodge, or toilet. the only featuers the oems can alter are small portions of the grill and tail panel area, that is why the oems do NOT like this change, thier product is even less distinguishable.

no no no dude, you dont understand. Currently they have 3 templates per brand. there is a Ford Fusion, short track car, Road race car, superspeedway car/ all different from each other/ The only one that comes close to the OEM sheetmetal is the superspeedway cars.

For 07 theyre eliminating all that. They will be racing 1 body per car, just like in the good ol days, before they debued the version now back in 1995. They will be brand specific, of CHEVY FORD DODGE and TOYOTA. With only bolt on spoilers and air dams To change it up for the different tracks. Intead of what I said above.

so we will only see this charger all year for example.

instead of stuff like this

I think they should go to even more stock looking bodies, and if it isnt good enough Then redesign it!

I do follow local IMCA racing too. I think nascar should cut em down to 100 laps TOPS! otherwise I start going like this :)
