Hooking up Amp w/ stock CD player

I want to get this to power 1 or 2 Alpine 10's, Im pretty dead set on this set up.

I know its possible to hook up an amp on a stock CD player, but with all this high tech crap GM has been doing, I was wondering if anyone here has done it. I dont wanna pay 120ish bucks for an adapter to install a new CD player, and 60 more for an adapter to allow my steering wheel controls to work on an aftermarket CD player, so Ive decided

to keep the stock unit.

And no I dont want to hear others opinions about these subs or the amp, or other brands and models of car audio. Im kinda in a bad mood, just found out Ive gotta work all d**n day tommorrow and its 2am...

You can buy a pigtail-in type adapter (PAC) or use LOC's.

 

You can probably get a PAC (easiest) for $50 or so online. LOC will run you $20 if you walk into Best Buy.

Are these adapters for installing an aftermarket CD player?

No, they're for installing an amplifier onto your factory head unit...There's no line-outs on the factory head, and either the LOC or the PAC will give them to you, so you can install an amp.

Ooooh ok. My buddy is going to do the installation, cause 1 He's really into the car audio stuff, and 2 any installer around here is a complete rip off. He mentioned something about an adapter, thats probobly what he was talking about. Best Buy wants 140 apiece for the 10's, and I can get them online for $80 off Crutchfield.com, or get 2 for 140 I think. The amp is 200 off Crutchfield, and at Best buy its 300.
