Road noise

I put new tires on my Yukon last month and still have quite a bit of road noise. I thought it was the old tires but after replacing them, the noise still exits. The truck isn't as smooth when driving and it feels and sounds like there is some resistance. I'm pretty sure it's not the brakes/rotors as I did a complete brake job a year ago and everything still looks good. I don't have any shimmy in the steering wheel and no pull so I don't think there is an alignment or wheel balance issue. What would I notice if a wheel bearing or CV joint was going bad? The wife hauls the kids around in the SUV so I want to make sure there isn't a serious issue developing.

Allen, I am not sure how many miles you have on your Yuk but being in the parts business, I have seen a few front wheel brg assys go out on these trucks aroung 100K. They become noisy and alos create some harshness when driving.

I have 71k miles right now. The noise/sensation is somewhat like a grinding but not the type you would get with dragging brake pads, etc. It really feels like more of a drag which I could imagine coming from bearings which aren't performing correctly. I'm not familiar with how to actually diagnose it if in fact the bearings are going bad. Or, do you generally just wait for them to fail and replace them? As long as there isn't risk of an accident or doing harm to other components on the truck, I'm fine with the later.
