I'm not too big a fan of dropped trucks, but actually with the 2" drop it looks level now and not too bad.  It's a good looking truck.

QUESTION:

How did you lengthen the mudflaps?  Did you do it on front and back?

    To lengthen the Husky guards, I went to Pep Boys and bought a set of two flat plastic splash guards that were about 14 X 10 x 1/8 or so in size.  Using the Husky guards as a guide, I traced the contour of the outside edge onto the flat guards and measured for the width of the Husky's and cut them to size and shape with tin snips.  I then sanded the cut edges for smoothness and final shaping.  I found some small plastic spacers at Lowe's (Home Improvement) and fit them between the Husky's and the flat guards at the bottom edge where the Husky's are indented on the tire side.  They're about 1/4 to 3/16 of an inch in depth, by about the same in diameter, with a small hole drilled through them.  I then used very small diameter stove bolts and nuts to attach them through the spacers (now hidden between the flat guards and the Huskys), cut the bolts to length and painted the nuts, bolts, and washers satin black.  I used loctite to keep them in place.  To attach them at the center and top of the guard, I marked and drilled holes where the Husky's already had mounting screws and used those through the flat guard.  I had to add 1 very small sheet-metal screw at the upper most point of the flat guard which is drilled through the Husky and into the inside edge of the fender flare.  The finished guards are 3 inches longer now, and that helps protect the rockers a little better.

I didn't do the rear Husky guards.  In fact, I removed them after installing the drop shackles.  There's only about 18 inches of fender back there behind the tire, and I figured most rocks get thrown past that.   I didn't care for the looks of the rear guards, even though they matched the front guards, so I just took them off.  They are on the truck in the "before" pictures, but off in the "drop" shots.

Check your email for a couple of pictures that show a little more detail of the guards.

My goal is to personalize my truck, but keep it looking as close to stock as possible, at least for now.

I like the look!!!  I went out and peeled the 4x4 sticker off my truck yesterday.  I'm thinking of removing the 2500HD badge on the doors along with the tailgate stuff too...
