Which way to fire subs...Ext Cab

Recommended Posts

I just got my brand new 06 ext cab and its time to add a nice system. I'm going to put two subs (have not decided on 10's or 12's) under the back flip down seat. I have no idea if i should fire them up into the seat (i would guess not), downfire them, or out towards the front with some speaker grills. Any differences in sound?

whats the diff between the difference in the way the subs face?  i was thinking two 10's would be perfect

When you have the sub in the downfire postion the sub uses the floor of the cab as a "giant sub" (kinda). It also allows for the sound waves a surface to bounce off of.

I have one 10" and it provides a nice tone, but not over-powering. Two 10" and you could have a truck that would be heard before it is seen.

Mine wasn't that bad with two in there. Loud as hell, but as long as you have some good mids and tweets that are getting nice power as well, it all evens out.
