NeXuS1 Posted August 16, 2001 Posted August 16, 2001 just wondering how many ppl drive their heavy duty trucks daily. it seems a lot of ppl dont which seems sad to me.. you pay for it might as well get full use out of it.. even if i only get 10 or 5 mpg(more then 10 if i drive like the old ppl) i'm still driving my 2500 with big block to tmcc.
Guest Friz Posted August 16, 2001 Posted August 16, 2001 Every day to work and back. Sometimes the wife takes it if she has to carry my daughter and her wheelchair. It gets used like a minivan!
Shaners Posted August 16, 2001 Posted August 16, 2001 I drive mine everyday too. The problem is I don't drive far (1 1/2 mile to work and 1/2 mile to the store). On a normal week I'm good for less than 100 miles. On the good side though I can go 3 weeks in between fill-ups, and that's with a 26 gallon tank and 13 mpg's!!!
DigUout Posted August 16, 2001 Author Posted August 16, 2001 I drive mine everyday even though I average about ? a month in gas. Was getting 17MPG, put on the 285's, now getting around 15MPG. If I still had my '84 CJ-7 though, I'd mostly drive that in the summer with the top off-
VegasDude Posted August 16, 2001 Posted August 16, 2001 I drive mine every day. The more I drive it the better I like it..................HD HD HD HD>......................
Jpshostr Posted August 16, 2001 Posted August 16, 2001 Driven all through the day, every day. A farm cannot function without a good truck, so it gets about 90-100 miles put on it daily in short (2-3 mile) trips.

If I still had my '84 CJ-7 though, I'd mostly drive that in the summer with the top off- If you figured out the math (maybe you are), and you compensated for the increased tire size you probably would still be around 17 mpg's. You are probably driving at least 30-40 miles per tank that aren't registering on the odometer. Even then 15 mpg's is very good for a 2500 series truck and I wouldn't feel bad about that (big tires or not)!!!
DigUout Posted August 16, 2001 Author Posted August 16, 2001 Yeah, no complaints about the mileage at all. Actually was kind of bragging! Although my math still may be off. 17MPG's x 26 galllons = 442. I have NEVER seen 442. I haven't run it dry, but I think 330 is more like it which comes out to about 12.5 MPG ??? Oh well, I didn't but it for the MPG-
Garmat Posted August 21, 2001 Posted August 21, 2001 Absolutely drive mine every day...every chance I get. The mileage isn't great, but we use this truck as the "family truckster." Coolest family vehicle I know of. Nice to have 496 cubes to put a smile on the kids faces.
KENNE BILL Posted August 21, 2001 Posted August 21, 2001 I guess I'll be the odd man out and admit to my truck being a weekend cruiser, still friends?
