Elevated idle?

How many of you use elevated idle? Seems like it would be a good way to warm the engine up faster especially for short trips. Do you wait until it turns off before driving or is it ok to take off before?

I've used mine when it is extremely cold outside. It will not work unless the outside temp is "x" degrees or colder and it will automatically disable itself when engine temps start to warm up.

 

It is fine to drive with it on, because I think that it only works when the tranny is in "P".
